Gina K. Designs has a new release this evening! I’m sharing a new floral set by Arjita Singh. I always get so excited to get one of her stamps – they are absolutely beautiful! The Grateful Spray features a mixture of two flowers and foliage in a spray – but there are separate images if you like creating your own arrangements. There is a coordinating die set even though I didn’t use it on my project today.

To begin, I stamped the large image on a piece of 4″ x 6″ watercolor paper using an embossing ink and embossed it with gold embossing powder. I love no-line watercoloring but sometimes, I think it’s easier to emboss and be able to watercolor more loosely.

I wet the entire and did a light wash of Deep Sap Green in the areas on and around the foliage and did the same with Quinacrindone Magenta over the florals. It dries quickly and you don’t have to wait for it to dry completely before adding details to the areas with more paint. I worked on the flowers first, then finished on the foliage with Daniel Smith Watercolors.

Daniel Smith:  Quinacridone Magenta (pink flowers), Pyrrol Crimson (red flowers, Deep Sap Green. (leaves), Sap Green (leaves), Quinacridone Gold (floral centers)

When I was done painting, I splattered it with some watered down Quinacridone Magenta and white paint. I trimmed this panel to mat a 4″ x 6″ card base before attaching it with foam adhesive. I finished by embossing my sentiments over black ink. I fussy-cut around the word Grateful because I wanted to cut off the excess black cardstock around the word. I hope you like it!
