Hi Friends!

I’m excited to be a part of Pretty Pink Posh’s October Release celebration today! Today is Day 2 of the celebration. If you missed Day 1, be sure to go back to the Pretty Pink Posh Blog for more inspiration! Pretty Pink Posh always has fun stencils and I get giddy about layering stencils! I’m sharing two cards using two new layered stencil sets, the Layered Holly and Layered Ornaments, as well as a Holiday Scripts sentiment set (with coordinating dies!).

My first card uses the Layered Holly stencil set. There are 3 layers, one for the holly leaves, one for the veins of the leaves, and one for the berries.

I started with the leaves and first did a light hand using a light green, then went over the tips with a darker green to give it more contrast.

For the veins, I used the same dark green to blend the second stencil layer. Finally, for the berries, I used a dark red. I splattered the panel with white paint when i was done and set it aside to work on my second card.

My second card uses the Layered Ornaments stencil set. This is also a set of 3 stencils and will cover an entire background. But to change it and make it different, I isolated the different ornaments to create a single row of staggered ornaments. This card uses two ink colors per ornament. I used some residual ink from my blending brush to add some blue to the very top of my card for additional interest.

For both cards, I used the new Holiday Scripts set. I embossed the sentiments, then used coordinating dies to die-cut the larger words and cut down the smaller words into strips to attach to my cards using foam adhesive.

To give my cards more interest, I added glitter drops to my holly berries on my first card, and used new Marshmallow Pearls on my ornament card. I hope you like them!
