Hi, Friends!
I have a monochromatic card to share with you today. I started playing with the Holiday Messages Ornament set and before I knew it, I was using the Snowflake Edges set for the background and the Snowflake Season set to create more ornaments for my card.
I stamped a Snowflake Edges stamp on a 5″ x 7″ panel and embossed it with white embossing powder. While I was embossing, I also stamped all the snowflakes from both the Snowflake Edges and Snowflake Season sets and embossed them in white also. For the ornament tops, I embossed in silver embossing powder.
Next, I ink-blended the background panel and all the ornaments using the same 3 Distress Oxide colors: Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, and Dusty Concord. I ink-blended with varying intensity and combinations to create the different shades. Then, I die-cut my ornaments from different sizes of Nested Circles Dies.
I finished by attaching my ornaments at various heights on my card panel. Before attaching the ornament toppers, I strung them with silver thread to wrap at the top of the card before adhering the card panel to a card base.

Caly, Caly, Caly. I gasped when I saw this card. I was, like, “Whoa! Caly made me a card.” 😂😂😂 Girl, wow, purple! My color! (Our color because you love it, too.) Oh my goodness, Caly. Absolutely gorgeous. I don’t even know if that really expresses how blown away I am. I showed it to my mom and she even said,”Wow! Que bonita!” (Wow, how beautiful.) Girl, my people roll their eyes when I get something else in purple. Purple glasses, purple wallet, purple bedroom, purple toothbrush, purple prom dress and quinceanera… it’s coo-coo for coco puffs! 😂😂😂 Your friend sounds like good people. 💜💜💜

Hi Caly, love the card. I’m a big fan of purple too. I have all the shades of purple in the Tim Hottz’s distress oxides, including the newest purple. I would have never thought of using different shades of purple for a Christmas card. Clearly I’m behind on the times. Last week I went to an arts and crafts show and saw a fully decked out rainbow colored Christmas tree! Nowadays it doesn’t have to be so green and red anymore. Which is so cool. 🙂
