Simon Says Stamp has just released an exclusive set designed by Art Impressions. The Christmas Train set is just simply magical! I love the tiny elves so much and that little Santa is so fun too! That train though! I love it!

I started by stamping and coloring all of the images from this set. Slow and steady, it took a while for me to get through but when I was done, I was so excited to put my card together.

Once I was done die-cutting all the images – that’s right, this set comes with dies! – I decided to make a slimline card to create a full scene for all of these images. On a slimline panel, I used a custom blend of Distress Oxide Inks – I used a Distress Oxide Custom Ink Pad and mixed Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio in equal parts. I’ve used this combination for a few years, but honestly, have not used it since Salvaged Patina was released. I thought it would make a great sky for today’s card. After ink-blending with that blend, I darkened it with Evergreen Bough. I splattered the panel with teal and white paint for more texture and set it aside to dry.

For some grounding, I used the Slimline Stitched Hillside Borders Die from Lawn Fawn to cut a simple border. You can do this by hand too. I used Glossy Accents to add a thin layer across the top of the hillside and covered it with Unicorn Dust glitter to give it some sparkle. I attached this panel to the blended background using foam adhesive to give it dimension.

To finish my card, I filled my scene with the images I colored. For the sentiment, I selected a sentiment strip from the Reverse From Me Christmas Sentiment Strips. I hope you like this set!
