Welcome back for another DieCember card project! My 5″ x 7″ card today features the new Dancing Snowflakes die. I absolutely LOVE snowflakes and never pass up the opportunity to use them!

The Dancing Snowflakes die is a single cluster of snowflakes that I die-cute twice using White Glitter Cardstock. To create an interesting background for my snowflakes, I used Simon Says Stamp Yupo Paper and played with alcohol inks. I used black and two blues to mix and added blending solution to create movement. The ink does magic when the colors separate to reveal the purple that you see.

When the alcohol ink was dry, I sprayed it with a Krylon fixative to keep it from smudging and it must have some alcohol properties in it bc it added some unexpected texture to my background. I didn’t mind it so I left it. Be sure to spray your fixative on your projects in a well-ventilated area because this stuff is strong! I sprayed it outside on my porch, then left it to dry in my garage for a few hours since it was pretty windy out and I didn’t want the fumes to stink up my house. Spraying it with a fixative is NOT necessary at all – I just didn’t want any issues as I knew I would be sending this card to the Simon Says Stamp headquarters :).

I attached my snowflakes directly to the alcohol-inked background and added some Iridescent Bubbles in the large snowflakes centers to give them more dimension and interest and finished with a simple sentiment from the Reverse Brr Sentiment Strips set.
