Hi, Friends!

I’m excited to share today’s project with you from the Simon Says Stamp To The Moon Release because it’s illustrated by my friend Emily Midgett. This is her debut for Simon Says Stamp and I’m excited for her! The Beautiful Bouquet stamp set is a 6″ x 8″ set and the image is large and barely fits a 5″ x 7″ canvas as you’ll see in my card today.

I started by stamping and embossing my image over a piece of watercolor cardstock using embossing ink to emboss the image with gold embossing powder. I love some no-line watercoloring, but when I’m in a hurry (or don’t want to spend 6 hours painting), I like to emboss first, as I can move a bit faster and not worry about pigment going into unwanted areas.

I used Daniel Smith watercolors and painted the flowers first, then the foliage and berries.

Daniel Smith watercolors used:
Rose:  Pyrrol Crimson
Anemone:  Permanent Violet, Neutral Tint
Hydrangea:  Carbazole Violet, Quinacridone Gold
Leaves:  Hooker’s Green
Eucalyptus: Sap Green
Berries:  Mayan Dark Blue

After painting, I splattered my card with white paint. Then, I matted my panel over a piece of Fog cardstock. To finish, I embossed sentiments from the So Much Love stamp and die set and centered them in the lower quadrant of my card. I hope you like it!
