Hi Friends!

I’m excited to be joining Concord & 9th this week as they highlight their latest release. Today’s highlight is the Pop-Up Card Base Dies! It creates a fun pop up on the inside of a card, but folds flat for easy mailing. I LOVE IT!

I used a few different products from the release to decorate the outside and the inside of my card today. The Pop-Up Card Base Dies is a set of 3 dies in varying sizes that create stands for your stamped/die-cut elements.

For the outside of my card, I used the Celebrations Turnabout to stamp a fun background using Concord & 9th Inks (Aqua Sky, Honey Suckle, Sprout, Ballet Slipper). Then I stamped the Birthday Scoops “Happy Birthday” sentiment in rainbow colors – isolating and stamping one letter at a time. It was a labor of love, but so worth it for the fun outcome! Ink colors used: Honey Suckle, Grapefruit, Buttercup, Sprout, Parsley, Sea Glass, Aqua Sky, Oceanside. Before attaching the die-cut sentiment onto the background, I used foam tape and some gold thread to create some loops for dimension and interest.

Scoops and Candles:  Ballet Slipper/Honeysuckle, Sea Glass/ Oceanside, Aqua Sky, Grapefruit/Sorbet, Sprout/Parsley

For the inside of my card, I stamped a bunch of candles from the Make a Wish set. I felt die-cutting was going to add more bulk than I wanted…and take more time, so I opted to stamp one-layer images instead. I also stamped ice cream cones from the Birthday Scoops stamp set. Once I pieced the ice cream cones together, I was able to create the pop-up scene using the Pop-Up Card Base Dies!

I used some acetate strips to make my hearts float too to give it more interest. I decided to stamp a long banner to cover up the front-most pop-up panel to decorate it and add a special touch to the inside of my card. I had not seen this done yet so I hope it gives you a new idea! I have also not yet seen the scoops inside the card. I was trying really hard to come up with original ideas and I hope you like it!
