The Gina K. Designs December release is here! I’m excited to share two cards with you – using two different coloring mediums! My first card uses the Happy Bouquet set designed by Arjita Singh. As always, Arjita brings beautiful floral bouquets that I love to watercolor!

I stamped my image over watercolor paper with a light ink and painted the image for a no-line look. I kind of love the way some of the paint pigments stick to the original image lines and create an organic look to the veins of the petals and leaves!

My card is painted with Daniel Smith paints – my favorite! For the large peonies, I used Quinacridone Violet. I tend to use one color at a time and finish all similar flowers or leaves until I’m done before moving onto another type of image. On the pink flowers, I used Quinacridone Rose. The leaves used two different greens – Hooker’s Green for the large leaves an Sap Green for the smaller leaves.

I added some details back into the flower centers with a black pen and then splattered the panel with dark green paint and purple paints I used on the bouquet. For the sentiment, I stamped simply with a black pigment ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

My second card features the Holly Wreath set – designed by Hannah Drapinski. This wreath is delicate and large, but the details are small so I opted to used colored pencils. I stamped again with a light ink and colored for a no-line look.

I used my Faber-Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils to color the image. I started with the colors and outlined the image, adding colors at the edges not not filling in the entire cores of each leaf/berry. Then using the white color pencil, I colored the centers – it smooths out the colors and adds a nice highlight to the centers.

Colors used: Permanent Green, Permanent Green Olive, Olive Green Yellowish, Dark Red, White

Next, I stamped and embossed my sentiment with gold embossing powder. Then to give it some added dimension, I added some Angel Aura jewels all around the wreath. Super simple! I hope you like it!
