Hi Friends!

Welcome to another Lawn Fawnatics Challenge!  This challenge celebrates the New Year – or any celebratory occasion, really!  We are using the following badge photos for inspiration.

I was inspired by the lights in these photos and wanted to do the bokeh effect – something I haven’t done in a long time!  Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Bokeh stamp set is the perfect set for this technique!

I started by working on a background, ink-blending lots of fun Distress Oxide colors. I used Picked Raspberry, Lucky Clover, Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon to create bursts of color all over a white panel, then used Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot around the edges to darken it.

Next, I used the solid circle stamps from the Let’s Bokeh set and used white pigment ink to stamp all my circles.  I did odd numbers of each of the sizes all over and used the same inked up stamp for 2-3 impressions until the ink is used up.  This gives different overlapped shades of white and allows some of the colors on the background to come through.

Next, I used some Gold Perfect Pearls and dusted some onto the main circles to give it a gold shimmer.  To finish, I embossed the sentiment in gold over black cardstock and finished by attaching some iridescent sequins.  I know this isn’t a typical Lawn Fawn card with adorable critters, but I think it’s nice to know you can get other looks from Lawn Fawn products too!  This challenge ends in two weeks on January 2^nd at 11:59pm PST.  I hope you’ll play along – critters or not!  Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawnatics Blog for more information on the current challenge and how to link up yours!
