It’s Distress color reveal time! It’s always much anticipated and so much fun. I got my package yesterday from Simon Says Stamp and was thrilled to be able to create a project to share today! Please welcome Uncharted Mariner to the Distress family! I would describe it as a deep teal color (or dark blue with a green shade). It’s beautiful and a great addition to the Distress color line.

I ink-blended a panel using the new Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink with Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina to show the gradient in color for comparison. Of course, I had to make a card out of this panel and it reminded me of winter and snow! So here is my first winter card…too soon?

I embossed the Center Cut Snowflakes over the panel in detail silver embossing powder and then splattered it with water and white paint to give it more interest.

The sentiment is from the Snowflake Season set that I embossed in white over the the piece that I die-cut out of the center from the Center Cut Snowflakes. There is a winter sentiment with the Center Cut Snowflakes set, but I wanted something more generic so I opted for the “hello, friend.” Then, I used another Nested Circles to die-cut a bigger circle using Matte Silver cardstock.

Before attaching my sentiment, I added some silver thread to give my card more interest. Then, I finished my card by adding some adhesive gems from Honey Bee Stamps in Aurora Borealis.
