I’m back to share more inspiration from the Simon Says Stamp Let’s Chill Release. Today’s card uses the Fresh Fruit red rubber background cling stamp. Sometimes, it feels limiting to use a background cling but I’m sharing how you can make it colorful with my card.

I started first by stamping the entire image onto white cardstock using Mint ink. This will stamp solely the black areas that you see on the cling stamp. Next, I used a Tombow marker and colored the leaves on the stamp only and stamped again to make the leaves darker on my panel. Then to give myself the ability to give the other spaces color without damaging the mint background I stamped, I stamp it again with VersaMark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. This seals in the Mint color and allows for emboss-resist to add color to the other white areas that I will ink-blend next.

Next, I colored the like-images by ink-blending them with similar colors. For the peaches/apricots, I used a brown Copic marker (E35) for the seeds. Super simple, right? I trimmed down this panel to mat a pink layer, then attached it to a cardbase.

To finish my card, I simply cut down a sentiment from the Reverse Chill Summer Sentiment Strips. I didn’t want to distract too much from the colorful background that I created. I hope you like it!
