Hello, Friends!

I have a summer card to share today using products from the Simon Says Stamp Let’s Chill Release. Cathy Zielske’s designs are always clean, sleek, and so much fun! I used the Beachy Keen set and Life’s a Beach dies to make my card.

I began with my background by using the Surf and Sand stencil. I ink-blended a section using Surf ink for the water and Latte ink for the beach. I used some copic markers to dot the sand, then to give my card some foamy beach texture, I used an embossing pen to draw on embossing ink and then used puff embossing powder. When heat set, the powder puffs up, creating a fun texture!

Next, I embossed the images from the Beachy Keen set using black pigment ink and clear embossing powder. Black ink is just fine too, but I wanted the edges to stay crisp since I needed to stamp the patterns on the hat and flip flops. I used two shades of ink to add shading.

The sentiment is die-cut using Matte Gold Cardstock from the Life’s a Beach die – also from Cathy Zielske. I die-cut twice more using white cardstock to stack each letter for dimension. I used one of the negative pieces as a template to make sure it all lined up perfectly.
