Hey Friends!

Welcome to Altenew’s August 2022 Super Subscription Release Blog Hop! Once a month, in addition to their fabulous stamp/die/stencil releases, they also have a Super Subscription release where you can get beautifully curated kits and sets that comprise of coordinating products (Craft Your Life Project Kits, Craft-A-Flower, Build-A-Flower, and Paint-A-Flower sets). My card today features the Craft-A-Flower: Open Peony die set as well as the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Magnolia & Blooms. Ink-blending is my go-to way of adding color these days – it’s just so much quicker and easier than other mediums for me. Being so busy makes that much more appealing.

This month’s Craft-A-Flower: Open Peony set comes with dies for one large bloom and foliage. The pieces used to create this detailed bloom is so carefully thought through, as you can see. I decided to create a coral peony bloom.

I used yellow, pink and green cardstock to start off with and ink-blended them with Altenew inks in Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Autumn Blaze (flower center), and Hunter Green (foliage). After arranging them over a white panel, I splattered it with white paint and finished with a simple embossed sentiment from the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Magnolia & Blooms set.

My second card uses the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Magnolia & Blooms. Craft Your Life Project Kits have got to be my favorite of all the subscriptions bc it comes with a stamp, die, stencils and embossing folder – I just love that they all coordinate and I used them all for my card today.

I started first by stamping and embossing my image for a crisp outline. Then I used the stencils to ink-blend using Altenew inks (Puffy Heart, Purple Wine, Ocean Waves, Dusk, Honey Drizzle, Hunter Green). Next, I used the coordinating die to die-cut the images. Then to give it lots of texture, I placed the die-cut images into the embossing folder and ran it through my die-cutting machine. On a white panel, I ink-blended around the edges with Purple Wine ink. I attached my images with foam adhesive and simply stamped the sentiment at the center. To finish, I splattered it with white paint to give it more interest.
