Hi Friends!

I’m participating in a blog hop today to honor the life Layton Caleb – a fellow cardmaker’s son who was born with two defects that kept him in the NICU.  Lea Lawson and her husband have suffered much pain from the loss of their two children and have lived the life of NICU parents.  Check out her blog today if you’d like to read more from her HERE.  To help give back, they have started a card drive and fundraiser.  The money raised will go towards Starbucks gift cards for parents with children at the The University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.  

Layton’s nursery was inspired by these photos, so you’ll see a common theme as you hop along.  Layton blessed his parents with 5 strong months and 7 days as he battled his serious life conditions so this post is to honor him and the courageous life he lived.  I’ve created a card using a Lil’ Inker Designs stamp and die set called Kite Flying.

I thought this set was sweet to make a scene for the kids.  I created the background using a cloud stencil and Soft Sky ink.  I stamped and colored the images using Copics and die-cut them out and layered everything on the background panel I created.  To finish off the card, I add some stitching lines from the kites to the cute critters.

Copic colors used:  E41, E53, W0, W2, Y02, Y15

I hope this reminds us all that life is too short and unpredictable and that kindness should be paid forward whenever possible.
