Hi Friends!
Welcome to Altenew’s Stamp/Die/Stencil/Stamping Mat Blog Hop! Be sure to check out the July Release Collection Page to see all the new goodies! Something new that I’m excited to share with you is the Stamping Mat!

Here’s a brief description for you:
The silicone grid mat is great for stamping, watercolor, ink blending, heat embossing, and everyday crafting! The mat features inches as well as metric measurements on the edges and a half inch grid. Due to the nature of the silicone surface, some grid lines have slight imperfections and are not completely straight. This will not affect the quality or functionality of the mat.
- Material: Silicone
- Color: White
- Size: 12″x16″
- Surface: One side printed with grid, one side non-slip
- Heat Resistant
I used the Stamping Mat for today’s projects and loved it! I LOVE ink-blending and usually work on a glass surface for easy cleanup, but this is just as wonderful! Let’s talk about my first card, shall we? It features the new Pen Sketched Flowers stamp set.

I stamped my images in black and colored them with Copic markers. Since the style of the images are pen-sketched, as it is so appropriately named, I decided to flick with my Copics to give it a more casual look. After coloring, I cut the images out then set them aside to work on my background. I actually fussy-cut my images, but please note that the dies will be available for purchase on August 8th, 2019.

I decided to ink-blend at a diagonal, leaving some white space at the bottom of my card. I masked off the area using some purple tape and began ink-blending using Peacock Feathers, then blending with a custom blend of Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass towards the top.

I splattered my panel with some water, then with some white ink to give the panel some extra texture. After the ink was dry, I trimmed an eighth inch off each side (to help clean up the edges and to mat an A2-sized cardbase). I figured how I would arrange my images, and before adhering it all down, I first embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder. I adhered a few of the leaves directly to the card, but most of my images up with foam adhesive for dimension.

For my second card, I used Bright Blossoms – a simple and fun stamp-layering set. I first stamped my sentiment in the center of a card panel using Obsidian ink. It’s such a great, crisp black ink! Next, I began to stamp my flowers using Baby Pink and Fuchsia ink. That’s right – only two layers to most of the images in this stamp set – so fun and easy!

I arranged the leaves around the flowers and in any open areas, creating a spray going towards the top right and bottom left of my card using Lime and Fresh Leaf inks. The filament of the flowers are stamped using Marigold ink.

I also stamped each of the flower images on a separate piece of cardstock so I could die-cut them to add to my card for extra dimension – so I added those to my card using foam adhesive. To give my card some extra interest, I colored my flowers using Wink of Stella Clear Sparkle to give it a bit of shimmer. To finish the card, I added some blush pink jewels. I love that you can use simple images to create a fun and even elegant card! I hope you enjoyed my projects today!
