Hi, Friends!
The August 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit is here! I’ve used the kit to create a castle on a mountain top scene and added some magic with a unicorn. This month’s theme is all things magical and fantasy! Be sure to check out the full release to see all of it!

6″ x 8″ Clear Stamp Set
17 Coordinating Frame Cuts
1 Fancy Castle Die
2 5.5″ x 8.5″ sheets of Mirri Matte Lava Purple Paper
2 5.5 x 8.5″ sheets of Parchment Paper
3 Glimmer Ink Pots (Gold, Purple, Red)
Dragon Scale Sequins
Kit Value: $83.49
Kit Cost: $34.99
To make my card today, I die-cut the castle and hilltop on white cardstock colored the castle with Copic markers to give it some color and dimension.
Copic colors: C0, C3, C5, C7, W0, W3, E31, R20, R43, R27, R39, Y38, Y00, Y08, G24, G21, G00, B00, BG15, B45, B27, V01, V04.

I began coloring the hillside by ink-blending with Green Hills ink. I slid scrap cardstock between the cuts and added a darker color at the top of each bump, if you will, to add dimension to the scene using Field Greens ink. I also added some cardstock colored with C7 to back behind the windows for depth.

On another piece of cardstock, I ink-blended the sky using Soft Yellow, Cornflower, and Soft Pink ink. Then I used a circle die from the Nested Circles Infinity Dies and die cut through both layers to accent the scene. I added foam adhesive to the castle and hill to adhere over the sky background and added this to my cardbase.

To finish my card, I stamped my sentiment and colored unicorn to add to the bottom of my card. I hope you enjoyed this card! Be sure to leave a comment below for your chance

Though the castle is more front and center with its vibrant coloring, I can’t help but keep going back to that unicorn— I can almost picture it shaking its mane!

Great card. I am hoping to see someone use the glimmer ink pots to see what they are. So excited to get my kit this month.

This is such a cute card. I can even see it as inspiration for a card for my 33 year old daughter. At first I thought this month’s stamps would only do for kids cards but I am now getting other ideas.
