Hero Arts – September 2019 My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi, Friends!

The September 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit is here!  The kit features a new Peek-a-Boo doors die and versatile stamps to create a Halloween-themed card or friendship-themed card. Be sure to check out the Full Collection to see the add-on sets for this month!

Instead of using the peek-a-boo die for today’s card or creating a Halloween them, I decided I wanted my card to look more like a big shelf of collectables.

I stamped my shelf and the elements I wanted on my shelf and colored them with Copic markers (C1, C4, Y13, Y26, G24, YG67, V04, G03, E41, E55, B000, B21, BG15, V01, R00, RV11, R85, R21, RV25). I don’t know if you’ve seen that galvanized pipes are becoming quite the trend. We recently made curtain rods out of these pipes and t-connectors (diy instead of buying them from Pottery Barn for hundreds of dollars).

To create a really soft background, I colored each of the openings with a soft pink (R0000, R000). Then for the sentiment, I partially stamped a sentiment for the “you are a” portion, then die-cut 4 layers of the word “treasure” (3 layers in white and 1 layer in gold).

I hope you liked my interpretation for this stamp!

And finally, as we launch this kit, our hearts are heavy with the news out of the Bahamas, and our thoughts are with the East Coast of the United States as we all hope and pray the hurricane stays out to sea. For each September kit sold, $1 will be donated to help those impacted by the devastation and displacement caused by Hurricane Dorian.

  1. Your card looks fantastic! I love all the bottles. I would like to see a picture of your diy curtain rods. I haven’t seen anything like that and would be interested in seeing what they look like.
