Hello, hello!
Welcome to an all new Altenew Stamp/Die/Stencil Release! I’m pretty excited about the two cards that I made today because I love the new Grateful Heart stamps and dies and String Art Rectangles Die Set! Be sure to check out the entire release HERE!

My first card uses the Grateful Heart stamp and die set. It’s a layering set so no coloring is needed but there are outline stamps so you can color it with whatever medium you’d like. I love it when stamps are versatile this way!

I stamped the outlines first and then used Altenew Inks to add color. I layered the flowers using Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart, and Purple Wine. The floral centers are inked with Buttercream, Warm Sunshine, and Caramel Toffee. Finally, the leaves are inked with Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen inks. The smaller floral cluster does not have layered stamps and can be left blank or colored with other mediums. I left them uncolored because I wanted to keep the focus on the large flowers.

This card is actually a 5″x7″ card. There wasn’t enough room on an A2-sized card for all the images and I didn’t want to crowd the smaller canvas. I ink-blended the background using Worn Lipstick in the lower 1/3 space in a circle, then added Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac radiating out. Then I arranged my images and stamped my sentiment to complete my card.

My second card is simple, but it’s all about the stitching. The String Art Rectangles Die Set comes with 8 pieces that you can use to create a variety of designs from simple frames to full panel art. I used them all today because I wanted stitching to stretch across the card.

I stitched a rainbow chevron from corner to corner on a diagonal using DMC embroidery thread size 5. I did try to stitch using regular embroidery floss and it was too fuzzy and didn’t use it.

After stitching, I die-cut the word Hello from the Flower Arrangement Die Set four times with black cardstock and adhered them together for additional height. I adhered the hello simply on the lower 1/3 portion of the card to finish.

Caly, I really like your idea to leave some part open or blank, like the uncolored parts of the stamped image and the unfilled holes in the stitched panel. It really makes the focal point pop. I will remember this technique. Thanks!

Wonderful cards. I love the first one, and the second has convinced me to try stitching on my cards. I haven’t done it before, but your stitched card is beautiful.

Liked both cards. String art is new to me so I’ll have to try that. Very creative how you used the string art in the second card and left negative space.
