Hello again!

The long awaited Tim Holtz STAMPtember collaboration is here! This set features images from the Snarky Cats collection. Confession – as embarrassed as I am to admit this, it also makes for a funny story – I thought what I colored for my card today is a squirrel. I showed Tim and said I loved the squirrel with lights.

Him: “squirrel? 😳”.

OOPS! Please forgive my ignorance. 🙈🤦🏻‍♀️

Had I known this little dude was a cat – I might have colored him a different color! Though, I don’t think brown is a bad color for him! I started by stamping this image on a white piece of cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.

Cat:  E31, E35, E37
Reds:  R22, R24, R27
Oranges:  Y08, Y35, YR04
Yellows:  Y00, Y15
Greens: YG06, G03, G07
Blues:  BG01, BG05
Purples:  V12, B15

After coloring the image, I colored its surroundings with B000, then went out a little closer to the edge with B01 – this gives me color around the cat and allows me to ink-blend so that I don’t have to get too close to the image to transfer ink where it’s unwanted. I then ink-blended with Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks.

To give my panel lots of texture, I masked off the cat and sprayed the panel with water, then splattered it with white and blue paint. My sentiment is then embossed in white over black cardstock.
