Hey Friends!
I’ve made a fun fold on my card today – I’m going to call it a hinge card. I got the idea from Bibi Cameron and I you can view her video HERE. It requires simple partial die-cutting that anyone can do and I’ll do my best to explain what I did.
I began by stamping and embossing my image from the Butterfly Kisses set. I ink-blended the rainbow using Simon Says Stamp inks in Rose Apple, Lemon Chiffon, High Dive, Hot Mama. Only the 4 colors that you see int he photo – the orange and green organically appear on their own with the blending of the colors.
To create the fun hinge, I partially die-cut the heart that coordinates with my image, leaving the very bottom attached. I die-cut a heart out of a Cream panel as well to layer over the top to add details from the Detail Petal Plate. You can simply this if you want to stamp directly onto the card base for a one layer look. Next, I die-cut a top folding heart base using the same heart die – partially die cutting so that this time, the tops are attached. Once I had my little heart “card” – I adhered it to the inside of my A2-sized card base. That creates the fun hinge!
I attached my sentiments from the Reverse Miss You and Friend die and finished by adding Glossy Accents to my butterflies to give them shine and dimension. I wish I had die-cut the heart window up higher but it’s still a cute card and I hope you like it!
