Hi, Friends!

Today, I’m sharing a special birthday card for a sweet little 2 year old. Harper is the miracle baby of a local friend and today’s her birthday party! I received her invitation a few weeks ago with a unicorn them so I whipped out my Magical Unicorn set because I thought it would be fun for her to get a birthday card with the same theme.

The Magical Unicorn set is one of Pinkfresh Studio’s older sets and is still a fan favorite of mine. Just a few die-cut flowers, and leaves and minimal stamping! The unicorn horn is a stamp and I wanted everything else that is die-cut to match, so I made my own glitter cardstock by embossing solid patches on cardstock to cut out the ears and number 2.

I used some Lawn Fawn Spiffy Speckles patterned paper to die-cut the flowers and leaves before stamping and ink-blending coordinating colors (Raspberry Bliss and Olive). I also used the Raspberry Bliss color to ink-blend the top of my mini slimline card panel as well as a bit of blush for the unicorn.

The number 2 is die-cut using a number die from the Heather’s Lowercase set. One I adhered my unicorn pieces to the top of my card, I was able to decide on the position of the eyes and stamped them in place. Finally, I finished by attaching a birthday sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Reverse Birthday Sentiment Strips.

Did you know that the mini-slimline size is perfect as a money holder? I hate to overwhelm parents with unnecessary toys (speaking from experience) so I’m putting some money in this card for Harper. I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by today!
