I love using the I Scream You Scream set – it’s so fun and I remember using this die last year for the summer challenge! I created a rainbow card – you can see that post HERE. This year, I wanted to do watermelon popsicles – I have been wanting to do this for a while and always get elated when I see a watermelon project that someone else posts.
I die-cut all the popsicles using red cardstock. I also die-cut them using green cardstock for the rind. For the white stripes, I die-cut the popsicle once using white cardstock and then sliced thin strips. The seeds are die-cut in black from the Stitched Umbrella Dies. The popsicle sticks are die-cut using cream cardstock.
Before adhering all the pieces together, I ink-blended using Lawn Fawn inks around the red, green and cream popsicle sticks to give everything more dimension and shade. For the background, I used the Small Slimline with Lift Flaps Die to cut a slimline panel that I ink-blended very softly with a peach ink.
Inks used: Pizza Crust, Apricot, Cranberry, Jalapeno
I attached my popsicles using foam tape. Then, I die-cut some extra seeds and adhered them in the open space. To finish, I stamped and attached the sentiment from the Simply Celebrate Summer stamp set.
