Hi, Friends! Welcome to the August Release Blog Hop for Pretty Pink Posh! We’re celebrating Halloween. There are wonderful Halloween sets and today, I’m sharing a card using the Monster Hugs stamp set along with the new Trick or Treat Script Die and Spooky Sky Stencil set.

I started by working on the background – I couldn’t help but play with the Spooky Sky stencils first. I masked off and inch from the bottom of my card and started by ink-blending the blues for full coverage using Distress Oxide Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Prize Ribbon, and Chipped Sapphire. Next, I added the stars using the stars layer and applied white pigment ink first as a base, then applied Mustard Seed Distress Oxide over it. Then I did the cloud layer with use white pigment ink, and finished with the bat layer using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink. I think flipped my mask and ink-blended the ground using Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink. There are lots of layers of ink here, so I set it aside to dry and worked on coloring my monsters.

I stamped and colored my Monster Hugs images using Copic markers. I didn’t intentionally color them in rainbow colors, but once I die-cut them all out, I realized it and so I arranged them on my card in that order. Before applying my monsters, I added a white picket fence in the background for additional interest.

Copics:
Reds:  R21, R22, R24
Oranges:  Y21, Y35, Y38
Yellows:  Y000, Y11, Y15
Greens:  G12, G14, G16
Blues:  BG70, BG53, BG57
Purples:  BV11, BV13, BV17
Grays:  W2, W5
Blush:  R30

I finished by die-cutting the new Trick or Treat Script Die. I die-cut the words twice to stack them. since they didn’t all fit across my card, I adhered the trick and treat words down first. I die-cut the word OR two more times and cut the tops off them to stack two more layers at the bottom of the letters to adhere them between the trick and treat words. I colored it with the yellow Copic markers to help them stand out.
