Hi, Friends!

Have you started your holiday cards? I haven’t really started, but I got to play with the Holiday Flora Collection from SusanTierney-Cochburn and I just absolutely loved it! The dies really transform die-cuts into 3D flowers beautifully. Today’s card features the Amaryllis die set.

I die-cut the flowers from white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers (R32, R35, R37, R39).  For the stem and leaves, I die-cut the pieces of green cardstock and added some shading using Copic markers (G21, G24, G46).  I also die-cut the stamen from yellow cardstock and added some red at the base using R32 to give it a peach color for some subtle shading.

Once you color all the petals, which is the most tedious part, putting the flower together is the best part! Amaryllis grow in groups of three, so I made three flowers. Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit is a must for creating these dimensional cards! They help you shape the petals and foliage to make them look more realistic.

My background is foiled using the Gilded Nested Rectangle Set. I foiled it with Polished Brass Foil and adhered my flowers to the trimmed panel. To finish, I stamped my sentiment and added some iridescent jewels.

I hope you like it! These cards aren’t easy to mail, but are so special because of their 3D feature!
