Merry Christmas! I know it’s a busy and festive day for everyone, so if you’re here today, THANK YOU and I hope it’s because you’re relaxing and taking a moment for yourself. I’m on the Lawn Fawn Blog today sharing an interactive card. As always, I love to document my work here to share with my followers as well.
My Flippin’ Awesome card today uses Lawn Fawn products from the Valentine’s Day release. I colored lots of images from the Scent with Love and Scent with Love Add-On sets to create my little mini scenes for the Flippin’ Awesome mechanism.
Skunks: R20, W0, W2, C2, C4, C6, C8
Reds: R21, R22, R27
Pinks: RV10, RV13, RV17
Greens: YG05, YG09
Purples: V000, V04
For the background I ink-blended a piece of light pink (Ballet Slippers) cardstock using Peachy Keen and Guava Inks and faded from dark to light as I reached the center. Then, on a white panel, I ink-blended Ballet Slippers and Peachy Keen inks using the Lots of Hearts Background Stencils. I then used the Quilted Heart Backdrop: Landscape die to create the pattern for the background.

Once the images are colored and background made, I assembled the Flippin’ Awesome mechanism. I used more Ballet Slipper cardstock for each of the panels and used the Grassy Stencil to ink-blend mini scenes for the stitched pieces. I used Freshly Cut Grass and Merman Inks for this.
Creating all the little scenes is so fun. We have the two friends/lovers running towards each other for a sweet embrace as the tab is pulled to reveal each scene. To finish, I attached an embossed sentiment from the Scent with Love stamp set.

Girl, that cutie bow on the girl skunk is too darn cute! I love it! haha haha I keep thinking about my student’s uncle’s baby skunk. 😂😂😂 I would have a serious talking to with anyone who “thumbs down” a cutie-patootie card like this one. 😂😂😂 Such a sweet and lovely card, Caly. A great video, too. 💜 I hope you had a beautiful Christmas day. I slept in, made pancakes from scratch for me and my mom (new recipe), with bellies full we opened some gifts, and just kicked back. 💜

Hi,Caly – This card is, well, flippin’ awesome! I think this intimidated me (this mechanism) before, but now, looking at it, I can’t for the life of me figure out why or how. I think it’s easier than the Swish’n’Pop item. Love this card – just darling, Caly!!
I did not have time to watch this until now (Jan 2, ’22) b/c I was on the road to give my FILaw some company. His wife passed away early in 2020 and we did not want him to be w/o Xmas cheer on Xmas day two years in a row (we did not go last year due to Covid but this year, since we’re dbl-vaccinated and boosted, we did it). I love your card and appreciate the video!
