My card today uses the Mom’s Spring Flowers set. It’s a beautiful bouquet that I used Karin Pigment Deco Brush Markers to color with. These are acrylic paint markers that are wonderful on a variety of surfaces. I used them today on Tim Holtz’s Distress White Heavystock.

My first stamped impression isn’t perfect because the paint will go right over the impression. I kept the stamp in my MISTI to stamp after coloring to bring back the crisp lines from the image. I used this technique on a video a few weeks ago. If you’d like to see it, please check out THIS video. The paint doesn’t blend perfectly like Copic markers with, but creates brush strokes and color blocking, depending on how you color.

Flowers: Magenta, Lipstick Red, Antique Pin, Pastel Red
Leaves: Lush, Leaf Green, Apple
Centers: Pale Orange, Sulphur Yellow

To create my background, I ink-blended some Lemonade ink and them stamped a light impression of the new Dimensional Quilt background stamp using Sunbeam ink. It’s very light and gives texture to the background. I fussy-cut my image and attached it to my card panel using foam adhesive, then splattered it with gold paint. To finish, I attached a sentiment that I embossed in white over black cardstock.
