I’m sharing a few cards using new products from Waffle Flower. I love orchids, so when I saw the Layered Orchid Die and the Layered Orchid Stencil Duo, I just had to use them!

My first card uses the Layered Orchid Die. I die-cut the pieces using watercolor cardstock and then watercolored the die-cut pieces. I used a dark pink and orange watercolor paint for the flower, brown for the stem and green for the leaves and orchid buds.

I die-cut the stem twice to elongate the orchid. I also trimmed off the buds on the second stem to use it. On a white panel, I adhered the stems, then leaves. Then, I adhered the orchids using foam adhesive. I wanted to draw on some orchid roots, so I started first with brown paint and quickly drew some lines, then went over it with green paint. The background panel is not watercolor paper, but since it was a quick draw, the paint didn’t affect the paper.

I splattered my panel with some gold ink to give it more interest before working on my sentiment. The sentiment is embossed from the Elegant Sentiments Combo set. I attached the sentiment using foam adhesive, then matted the card over cream cardstock.

My second card is an infinity shaker card using the Layered Orchid Stencil Duo. I ink-blended orange and red for the orchids and green for the foliage. Then I used a Rectangle Shaker Cover to wrap around my ink-blended panel to create my shaker card.

I filled my shaker with Lucy’s Things Hollow Hearts and Lullaby shaker bits. After sealing up my infinity shaker, I attached the panel to a card base. Then I worked on a birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday Sentiments Combo Set. I stamped and embossed the sentiment over vellum using gold embossing power.

I adhered my sentiment with thin strips of foam adhesive and adhered a watercolored orchid and some foliage from the Layered Orchid Die that I watercolored the same way as I did for my first card.
