It’s time for a new card kit reveal from Simon Says Stamp! The August 2022 Card Kit brings you a Vintage Garden!
The Vintage Garden stamp set available with this kit is a 6″ x 8″ stamp set with several clusters of flower images. They are not silhouette images, but I am using them as such for my cards today. I really love the large flourished sentiments and use the floral images to complement the sentiments, rather than the other way around.
My first card uses 3 floral images that are rotated to create a frame for my sentiment. I could’ve stamped last after ink-blending, but I decided to emboss the images and sentiment to do emboss-resist.
I ink-blended my stamped panel with Taffy, Guava and Cheeky ink. After ink-blending, I splattered with water and white paint. To finish, I topped it with a silver-embossed butterfly from the stamp set.
My second card is started the same way. I embossed the image and sentiment on a white panel. This time, I masked the card for a white frame using an A2 Mask and ink-blended with Royal, Ocean and Tidepool Ink.
Once more, I splattered the panel with water and white paint after ink-blending and finished the card by topping it with a silver-embossed butterfly for dimension.
I hope you like these cards! The kit comes with beautiful patterned paper and a floral embossing folder that I didn’t get to use and I hope to get to see inspiration with those products from other designers and on the Simon Says Stamp website! Thanks so much for visiting!
