Hello friends!

I have a watercolor card to share today.  I usually only watercolor with one color, but today, I decided to add in another color for interest and it’s easy to do!  My floral bouquet is an image from the Mom’s Spring Flowers set.  I love the size of the petals and leaves; it’s not too busy and easy to paint.

I’m using the wet on wet technique.  I apply water to wet the petal I’m going to be working on, then I apply wet pigment to the nooks and crannies and let that water draw out the pigment.  At the other end/tip of the petal, I added yellow.  Using a clean damp brush, I blend the two colors together.  I have a video for you if you’d like to see the process!

When I was done watercoloring, I used the coordinating die to die-cut the image.  Using a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen, I added in some details from the flower stamens. Then to add in some deeper colors at the base of each petal, I used some colored pencils on the flowers and leaves.

For the background, I masked a 5” x 7” panel using an A7 Mask Stencil and ink-blended with Melon, Cheeky, and Taffy Pawsitively Saturated Inks.  I spritzed it with some water droplets for interest, then added my watercoored bouquet.  Before removing the mask, I also added some white paint splatters.

I finished my card today with an embossed sentiment and some iridescent sequins.  I hope you like it!!  I appreciate you visiting today!
